🔥 Theresa's Passion For Food ♥ Saved (0)

Hi, I'm Theresa 👋

This site started the way most kitchens do: with a pot on the stove, a question I couldn't stop asking, and a phone full of half-remembered recipes. I fell in love with Asian and Indian cooking the first time I watched my neighbour's grandmother coax a pot of dal — patiently, by eye, with a wooden spoon — and turned it into something I'd crave for the rest of my life.

For the past fifteen years I've been chasing that feeling around the world and through every market I can find: haggling for whole spices, learning to read a wok by the sound it makes, burning a first batch of tandoori, perfecting the tenth. Every recipe on this site has been made in my own kitchen, photographed, argued with and re-made until it tastes the way I remember it tasting.

"A recipe is just a love letter with measurements. My whole collection is addressed to you."

There are 355 recipes here — Indian curries and biryanis, Chinese wok classics, Japanese comfort food, Thai curries, Vietnamese pho, Korean stews, and the hawker-centre legends of Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. Some are restaurant dishes cracked open and made for home; some are family recipes passed down and worth keeping alive.

If a recipe works for you, I'd love to hear what you made and how it went — send me a note through the contact page. If you find a way to make it even better, tell me that too. That's the whole point of a shared kitchen.

Happy cooking,
Theresa
